The other day G and I were driving and there was a teenaged girl on the back of a motorcycle.  He launched into a speech about how one day our little mochis will be dating and we will have to discuss what they are allowed and not allowed to do (like ride on the back of motorcycles).  He likes to tell me that he’s going to get a gun and clean it in full view when a boy comes over to pick up a mochi for a date -  because they WILL be required to come to the door and meet him before leaving.

Then I consulted with an expert, who has been there and done all that.  Aunty mentioned a few things that I figured I’d list for future dad reference regarding dating daughters:

• Ask them their full name and do a search on them online while they are standing there
• Stand outside with a notepad and write down their license plate as they drive off
• Ask their parents’ names and occupations for background checks
• Find out where they’re going and once they leave, pack up the rest of the family and go out to dinner (guess where)

Me, I think I’ll start scrapbooking and display my collection of embarassing baby photos.
